Review: Skinlite Make-Up Cleansing Tissues

I am sometimes lazy. I come home from work and the first thing I must do is wash my face and get all the make up off. But I am lazy and on some days, picking up the facial cleanser, lathering it, and washing up is just too much for me. Have you ever felt that way?
So, when I chanced upon these cleansing tissues, I thought, they were perfect for a bum like me! I found these at the SASA outlet at KLCC, (I am sure you are thinking that I spend waaaay too much time at SASA!) for a steal at RM14.90 and they are the most convenient thing to have, I tell you.
These make up cleansing tissues claims to remove eyeliner, eye shadow, lipstick and even waterproof mascara without irritating the skin. There are several different ingredients in these pre-moistened tissues. There is Aloe, Cucumber, Green Tea and also Rose. I chose the Green Tea and Aloe tissue. There is a pleasant and calming fragrance in the tissues which is great if you are using it after a hard days work.
I was initially sceptical on how well this tissue will clean my face and also how many I would need to use in order to thoroughly cleanse my face. I was pleasantly surprised!
Packaging
The tissue comes in a sealed plastic package which is nestled in the box that you see in the picture. It contains 30 pre-moistened sheets of this tissue and has a resealable flap so it does not dry up. It is great if it sits on your dresser or as in my case, my bathroom counter however, it will not fit very well in a bag. If you want to carry this around with you, then you will need to remove the packaging from the box and it will be good to stash in your bag if you like.
Usage
I pull out a sheet and open up the tissue to its full size, and start from the centre of my forehead and swipe it all the way to my temple and repeat on the other side. I then move the tissue to a clean portion and continue from the bridge of my nose near the inner corner of my eye, to my cheeks and outwards to my temple. Then repeat on the other side of my face.
I then turn the tissue over and wipe my chin and lips, turn the tissue to a clean portion and wipe the area around my eyes being careful to not pull the area under the eye too much. I then crush the tissue and use the cleaner corners to wipe my neck. I know this may sound like I am stingy with the tissues but I wanted to see if I could indeed use jsut one tissue to clean my entire face - and I believe its do-able! If you are a purist, then by all means, use two tissues.
Results
Voila! Clean and refreshed face in no time. What I was most impressed is that my face felt clean and fresh as well as cool after I used the tissue which I did not expect at all. In fact, it felt like I had washed my face the traditional way. I was also thinking that my pores would be clogged and that surely a nasty angry pimple would surface in the coming days. Nothing!
I usually take a warm shower before I turn into bed and so several hours after using the tissue, I still did wash my face with a cleanser. Overall, if you need to clean your face quickly with good results, then this tissue is something you should keep with you. It should not be a substitute for a good wash. I don't use this everyday, as I said, only on my lazy days.

Natio Face Mist

I picked this face mist up at SASA not too long ago. I had initially intended to buy Evian's Facial Water Spray but they did not have the smaller sized (50ml) bottle which could fit in my purse.

I have been wanting to use this product for the longest time and it so happened that I had some time on my hands to kill and walked into SASA. Because I spend so much time in an air-conditioned office, my face sometimes feels dry and taut. So I thought that this spray would be a great way to refresh my face. Also, in our hot and humid Malaysian weather, this product can provide a spray of water to cool down a sweaty face and also other parts of the body such as arms for instance.

What does this product do?

The bottle states that this face mist should deposit a refreshing burst of moisture to invigorate the spirit as it hydrates the skin. It also helps to soften the appearance of fine facial lines. This product also claims to be suitable for all skin types.

How do you use this product?

The best way to ensure that you have a nice even spray of the mist on your face is to hold the bottle about 6 inches away from your face and close your eyes while you gently and lightly spray your face with this product.

What are the ingredients in this product?

The first ingredient listed is Water (Aqua), Glycerin,Rose Extract, Cucumber Extract, Fruit Extract, Calendula Flower Extract, Aloe Leaf Juice, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Phenethyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol and Tetrasodium EDTA.

My Verdict?

I like to use this at least once a day, especially in the afternoon when I feel a little tired and need a pick me up. I love how it cools your face and if you have been out on a hot afternoon for lunch, the best time to use this would be when you get back to the office. You instantly get a cool feeling when you spray this mist and it smells faintly of roses due to the rose extract used. I like the smell because to me that is a soothing smell. I also like to spray it on my arms to keep cool.

The SA also advised me to try this spray on right after I have applied my make up and she said that it will set my make up for the day and make it last longer. I was not too sure about whether my make up will last longer, but I will try that one day and report back to you.

The face mist cost me RM 35 for a 75ml bottle. Not cheap as chips if you are on a budget but good to try. I have also used this on my 2 little girls when we were out and about one day - they loved it! My husband also reluctantly allowed me to spray some on his arms....I am happy to say that he reported feeling his arms go a little cooler after!

Majolica Majorca Trick on Powder

Majolica Majorca - Trick on Powder Eyeshadow in GR 750

I was shopping around in Watsons at the Pavilion KL and I chanced upon this little cutie. I have no idea whether these colors will suit my skin - but it looks so girlie and cute that I could not resist picking it up. I notice that I am more inclined to pick up eye colors rather than say, lipsticks because I have been disappointed many times with lipstick colors that look so lovely in the tube but turns out just 'blah' on my lips! I am more confident with eye colors which I know can really pop with a little bit of mixing and blending.

Majolica Majorca is a brand under Shiseido. Shiseido is not a brand that I have explored because of two reasons:-
(a) many years ago when I was looking for foundation, I went by the Shiseido counter and as soon as the words "foundation" came out of my mouth, the SA said "Sorry our colors are more for lighter skin".
(b) I am ignorant about to the stuff that they carry! (I purposely choose to ignore the items that they carry because of that one bad experience).

How many ladies out there have come across silly SA's? They make or break a sale with me - if they are not too pushy, I am always moved to buy and if they came straight out of hell - no way am I buying anything!

Anyway, I digress. The SA's from hell story should have its own post!

Since I bought this, I have been pulling it out to look at it lovingly everyday and whats more, there is even a little tutorial at the back of it teaching you where to use the 4 different colors. I was so drawn to the mossy green (one wall in my room is painted a similar shade). I have of course never tried this shade of green and am dying to try it out so I can give you my feedback soon.

I purchased this for RM49.90. Which I though was rather steep but trust me, you will fall in love with the way this looks.
